    I looooove the chili paste but the Sriracha has some funky flavor in the background I just really dislike. Can’t stand the stuff. It’s not a fermented funk, but it’s similar. Anyone know what I’m talking about?

    Fun fact: it’s actually “*mother lode*” not “*mother load*”.

    This stems from mining terminology, wherein a “lode” was initially referring to a stream or other body of moving water that was used in mining, but then changed to refer to an area, or vein, that was rich in metal ore.

    Therefore, “*hitting the* *mother lode*” meant that you have found the origin source of all the downstream metal ore, or “*mother of the lode*”.
